Who we help

Coverage built around who you are

Different situations call for different plans. Here's where we do the most good.

Families

Plans that cover the whole household without paying for coverage you'll never use.

Small business

Group options for owners who want to take care of their team without enterprise pricing.

Grad & college students

Affordable, flexible coverage for college and grad students who've aged off a parent's plan.

Dental & vision

Stand-alone or add-on dental and vision so checkups and glasses don't come out of pocket.

How we work

An advisor who shops the whole market — not a single-carrier salesman

Because Slagle Health is independent, we compare private plans and Marketplace options across the major carriers available in your state — then match you to the one that actually fits. A favorite among clients: a $0-deductible PPO on a nationwide network.

  • $0 deductible — no spend-down before benefits begin
  • PPO network — keep flexibility in who you see
  • Plans for individuals, families, and small groups
  • Telehealth included — virtual doctor visits from home
Need a Marketplace plan? No problem — we work with a dedicated Marketplace partner and hand you off directly, so you're never left to figure it out alone.

Featured private plans are medically underwritten non-ACA major medical — eligibility and rates depend on your health history, and major pre-existing conditions generally aren't covered. They don't include every Essential Health Benefit: substance use disorder treatment isn't covered, and benefits like maternity and mental health vary by plan. These plans aren't a substitute for ACA Marketplace coverage; ask us about Marketplace options if you need guaranteed-issue or comprehensive coverage.

FAQ

Health insurance questions, answered

Straight answers to what people ask us most.

What happens to my health insurance when I turn 26?

When you turn 26, you typically age off a parent's plan and need your own coverage. Aging off usually opens a 60-day Special Enrollment Period, so you can sign up outside the normal open-enrollment window. Your main options are an ACA Marketplace plan or a private plan, and we compare both so you don't end up with a gap.

Can I get health insurance if I'm self-employed or a 1099 contractor?

Yes. If you're self-employed, a freelancer, or a 1099 contractor, you can buy individual coverage — either an ACA Marketplace plan (which may include income-based subsidies) or a private plan. As an independent agency, we compare both routes to match your income and your health needs.

How much does health insurance cost for a small business?

It depends on your team's size, ages, location, and the plan you choose. Many owners compare offering a small-group plan against having employees buy individual coverage — sometimes the individual route costs the business less. We run both side by side so you see real numbers before committing.

What's the difference between a PPO and an ACA Marketplace plan?

A PPO describes the network: it gives you flexibility to see specialists and out-of-network doctors. “ACA Marketplace” describes a plan that meets Affordable Care Act rules, covering all Essential Health Benefits and never denying you for health history. Some private PPO plans are medically underwritten and aren't ACA-qualified. We walk you through the trade-offs so you can choose with confidence.

Do graduate students need their own health insurance?

Usually yes — if you've aged off a parent's plan at 26, your program doesn't include coverage, or the school's plan is expensive. Grad and college students can choose an ACA Marketplace plan (sometimes subsidized) or an affordable private plan. We help you find something that fits a student budget without leaving a gap.

What states does Slagle Health serve?

We're licensed in 30 states nationwide and help clients in each compare private and Marketplace coverage. We also work with families and businesses locally across South Florida, including Weston and Pembroke Pines. Not sure if we cover your state? Just ask.
